Potential fonts for magazine cover

I have conducted research into potential fonts for my magazines front cover. I have decided that my film will be a mainstream Hollywood blockbuster. This has led to the type of publication which would feature my film on. This publication will be mainstream magazines, such as Empire, Total Film and The Hollywood reporter.  Below I have compiled a list of potential fonts and included reasons for each of the fonts sustainability.  Kaffeesatz is a potential font which I think could be  sustainable for my magazine as it is quite comtemporary.  Eagle Bold is another potential font which I will consider using. I think this font would be suitable for my magazine, due to its captivating nature.  Due to its versatility, Antenna is suitable for mainstream publications, such as The Hollywood Reporter. Although, as my film is going to feature on the front page, I feel as though my magazines font needs to appear slightly less elegant, to su...

Possible photos for magazine cover/poster

Whilst filming the shots for my trailer, I took a variety of photos which I thought would be suitable for magazine cover/poster. I have also conducted a brief analysis of each images sustainability.  This  photo shows the character taking photographs of the couple; clearly identifying him as a stalker. I think this image is less effective than the previous photo, as he is not taking a photograph. This makes it less clear to the audience that he is stalking the couple.  I have angled the camera as two different positions, for both these photographs of the stalking hiding behind the wall. The extreme long shot of him, highlights his sinister appearance, via dressing him in all black and with his hood up.  Therefore, by photographing the antagonist watching/stalking the couple, via bending down by the letter box and looking at them through their windows, reverses with the safe environment of your own home.  I centere...

Potential magazine cover layouts

I have sketched some potential layouts, which I can use for when I design my magazine cover. I have researched and analysed many different covers for mainstream magazines, such as Total Film and Empire, both of which have given me an idea on the layout and what content to include.  Below are my sketches:

Potential coverlines

Below I have come up with a list of potential coverlines which I will feature inside my magazine. The magazine I will be creating is a publication of mainstream Hollywood blockbusters. Whilst keeping this in mind, I have also made sure I am remaining aware of my intended audience for Horror films. Therefore, I have noted the importance of referencing films which suit this criteria. I have chosen coverlines for films which have been released, or announced for release in 2018.  1) The Darkest Minds  Superheroes for the millennial generation  2) Robin Hood Boys in the hood  Egerton and Dornan in Robin Hood reboot 3) Jonny English Strikes Again Olga Kurylenko  Bond girl back in Jonny English sequel 4) Venom  Tom Hardy suits up  5) The Spy Who Dumped Me Mila Kunis 6) A Star Is Born  Bradley Cooper 7) Bad Time At The El Royale  Chris Hemsworth  8) The Nutcracker and the four realms  Keira Knightley  9) Ni...

Magazine questionnaire

I have conducted primary research, via questionnaire, as I want to learn more about what my audience would expect to find inside a film magazine, along with the ways in which design, layout and content would lead them to buying the magazine. I have carried out a series of questions to ask, in order to help me in designing my own magazine front cover, which audiences will be engaged with.  Below is my questionnaire: 1) Which kinds of colours would attract you to the magazine the most?  -Muted/neutral colours  -Bright colours -Pastel colours  -Depends on genre  2) What would you expect to see on the magazines front cover?  -Image of a Hollywood star  -Image of a top film director  -The main character in an upcoming movie  3) What font would you expect the cover line to be in?  -Rounded  -Square and bold  4) Would you prefer the front cover to be dominated with writing or images?  -Writing -Images -D...

Possible Poster layouts

Possible Poster layouts  Before I start with the design stages of my poster, I need to sketch some possible layouts. After closely analyzing a lot of different posters from the Horror genre, I now have a clearer understanding of how genre affects layouts. I have sketched some possible layouts for my poster, whilst taking into consideration all of what I have discovered through research.
