Potential fonts for magazine cover

I have conducted research into potential fonts for my magazines front cover. I have decided that my film will be a mainstream Hollywood blockbuster. This has led to the type of publication which would feature my film on. This publication will be mainstream magazines, such as Empire, Total Film and The Hollywood reporter.

Below I have compiled a list of potential fonts and included reasons for each of the fonts sustainability.

Kaffeesatz is a potential font which I think could be sustainable for my magazine as it is quite comtemporary.

Eagle Bold is another potential font which I will consider using. I think this font would be suitable for my magazine, due to its captivating nature.

Due to its versatility, Antenna is suitable for mainstream publications, such as The Hollywood Reporter. Although, as my film is going to feature on the front page, I feel as though my magazines font needs to appear slightly less elegant, to suit the sinister nature to which my film portrays.

Neue Helvetica is another potential font I will consider using. I think that it is sustainable, as the fonts simplicity is quite effective in engaging the audience.

Duplicate Ionic is a traditional, which would be compelling for the viewer. This would be suitable for a magazine which features mainstream Hollywood blockbusters.

I have chosen Franklin Goth as another potential font which I could use. This is because I feel as though it has a gripping essence, which would be efficient for mainstream publications.
Proforma is a similar font to Duplicate Ionic. both these fonts don't stand out as much in comparison to the other fonts I have come across. Therefore, I most likely won't end up using them.

Franklin Goth is the font which I chose to use for my final magazine cover.

Poster analysis introduction

I am going to conduct research and analysis towards the conventions of film posters. I have looked at five different posters from a variety of genres, in order to see if there are similarities within the conventions. This will help my understanding of the depth in film posters, thus benefitting me when I am making my own.  Below are the five posters, each of different genres, which I chose to analyse the conventions of: 1) La La Land  2) Spider Man  3) Insidious 2  4) Hangover 2  5) The Notebook

Magazine cover analysis introduction

After looking at the conventions of movie posters, I will now do the exact same, but for film magazine covers. Both film magazines I will be looking at are aimed at different audience and will both be for different front covers from a different film magazine. In terms of design and layout, I will be able to see if both film magazines share the same conventions.  Below are the two film magazine covers I will be analysing:

Evaluation - what have I learnt from my audience feedback?

Within my research and planning, I constantly had my target audience in mind. I therefore conducted several questionnaires and focus groups,  in order to gather information on what my audience expected in regards to different media texts, along with making decisions based on their feedback.  My main aim for my marketing campaign was for it to hold authenticity and realism for the audience. I questionnaires which I have included below helped me achieve this: Questionnaire for poster Questionnaire for magazine cover Questionnaire for teaser trailer Additionally, I have also conducted a series of questionnaires post production of my marketing campaign. I wanted to gather feed back from my audience to see if they felt that my poster, magazine cover and teaser trailer were sustainable, accurate and convincing.  My posters questionnaire goes as follows:  1) Was the font I used effective in portraying the nature of a horror film? If so how? 2) Did you fee...
