Finding fonts for my poster and teaser trailer
I will be using sites, such as Dafont, Fontyukle, Linotype, and Fontmeme in order to find potential fonts to use for my film poster and teaser trailer. I have chosen to make a horror film, so I will choose fonts that I think reflect the genre. I will look at various different sites to try and find the fonts that I feel are appropriate and sustainable. I will be choosing approximately 10 that I think might work and I will complete a questionnaire or focus group, where my audience will tell me which fonts would be the most effective. The sites I will be looking at are Dafont, Fontyukle, Linotype and Font Meme.
How might this site be useful?
Dafont
https://www.dafont.com/
Danger Zone Warning
Headliner No. 45
Plane Crash
Scorched_earth
Nervous
Terror 2005
Heroin07
Blue_Baby
Dafont is a good website to use because it splits all the different fonts into categories. Although, I will think about using fonts from other websites due to the horror fonts on this website coming across as quite 1950's old school.
Fontyukle
https://www.fontyukle.net/en/
The only way this website is useful, is if I know the name of a certain font I am looking for. Additionally, the fonts aren't split into categories, resulting in not being able to find any suitable fonts for my Horror poster and movie trailer.
Linotype
https://www.linotype.com/
This website is good for finding suitable fonts, as it splits them all up into categories. However, you can't download the fonts for free, meaning I will have to go else where for them.
Font Meme
https://fontmeme.com/
Font meme is good as it shows different movie fonts all split up into specific genres. For instance, the Horror film 'The Purge' uses a very good font called 'Gotham', which I will consider using. Moreover, Font Meme also shows the font which 'Annabelle' uses. being ITC Giovanni.
