Poster analysis 1

The first film poster I am going to be analysing is La La Land as has been classified as the musical genre.
The poster conventions I found for this film were smaller images, reviews, reference to awards, film title, name of stars and star ratings. I suspect the rest of the posters I analyse to include the same conventions, despite the differing genres.

Poster analysis introduction

I am going to conduct research and analysis towards the conventions of film posters. I have looked at five different posters from a variety of genres, in order to see if there are similarities within the conventions. This will help my understanding of the depth in film posters, thus benefitting me when I am making my own. After looking at the conventions of movie posters, I will now do the exact same, but for film magazine covers. Both film magazines I will be looking at are aimed at different audience and will both be for different front covers from a different film magazine. Evaluation - what have I learnt from my audience feedback?

Within my research and planning, I constantly had my target audience in mind. I therefore conducted several questionnaires and focus groups, in order to gather information on what my audience expected in regards to different media texts, along with making decisions based on their feedback. My main aim for my marketing campaign was for it to hold authenticity and realism for the audience.
