Horror trailer genre analysis

The third Horror trailer I am going to analyse the genre conventions of is The Purge: Election Year

-Taglines
-Fades to black
-Dissolve
-Choral music is contrapuntal with the action taking place
-Images of blood at the beginning
-Editing in first half of trailer is relatively slow
-Sudden sound effects
-Second half of trailer is much faster paced in terms of cutting between shots
-Quick shots of violence and mise-en-scene involving weapons such as guns and knives
-Narration is played over quick editing
-Filmed consistently in the evening, creating a sense of unease and insecurity
-Fast and sinister music
-Some slow and exaggerated movements
-Several rapid and quick shots of characters being attacked with weapons
-Impact sounds
-Setting often being in the family home, reinforces Horror genre as the home is supposed to be a place of safety and security
-Trailer is filled with dark shadows and lack of light, creating an unsettling atmosphere
-Rapid flashes between shots before blackness

Poster analysis introduction

I am going to conduct research and analysis towards the conventions of film posters. I have looked at five different posters from a variety of genres, in order to see if there are similarities within the conventions. If so how? 2) Did you fee...
