Location list, prop list and costume list

I have created a location, prop and costume list which highlights everywhere I shot, the outfits I dressed my characters in and any props which they used.

Location

-Inside my house; my bedroom, landing, bathroom, dining room, hallway, kitchen/backdoor
-Down my street
-Littleton playing fields
-Another park
-A street in Hampstead Garden Suburbs
-Alley way next to my house
-In my college

I have included photos of some of the locations which I used

I have chosen this location for my establishing shot. The wide open space in a park, sets a romantic tone, thus positioning the audience with the relationship between the protagonists.

Via using the bathroom for the first sign of direct danger towards the girl friend is effective in portraying her vulnerability.

The stairs convey the female characters isolation and subjection, as she wonders through her house alone

I feel as though this road would be a suitable location. This is because it provides a sense of realism for the viewers, which creates intensity, in regards to the action taking place.

Via filming outside a house conveys a juxtaposition in between danger and a typically 'safe' home environment.

This alleyway appears as a sinister and dark location, which is why I feel as though it is suitable for my trailer.

Props

-A wedding ring which the boyfriend uses to propose to his current girlfriend/fiance
-A professional DSLR camera which the stalker ex boyfriend uses to take photographs and film his ex girlfriend and current boyfriend/fiance
-A creepy letter which comes through the post box to the girlfriend from her with a sinister message written on
-Phone, showing an unknown number calling, which the girlfriend picks up to her ex being on the line
-Fake blood when showing the boyfriend has been murdered

Costume

-I ensured that the male and female actors who played the boyfriend and girlfriend changed outfits in each shot which was filmed in a different location, and at a different time
-I had these two actors wearing casual 'normal' clothing
-I made sure that the stalker was wearing all black in every shot he was in, often with his hood up. This was to make him appear more sinister
-In the shots of the girlfriend in her home I had her wearing just a towel in the bathroom scene, this symbolises the comfort she has in her own home
-I wanted the scene to when she just woke up look authentic to what people would wear in bed, so I asked her to wear her pyjamas
-I also had her wearing the same pyjamas when she walks down the stairs

Poster analysis introduction

I am going to conduct research and analysis towards the conventions of film posters. I have looked at five different posters from a variety of genres, in order to see if there are similarities within the conventions. This will help my understanding of the depth in film posters, thus benefitting me when I am making my own.  Below are the five posters, each of different genres, which I chose to analyse the conventions of: 1) La La Land  2) Spider Man  3) Insidious 2  4) Hangover 2  5) The Notebook

Magazine cover analysis introduction

After looking at the conventions of movie posters, I will now do the exact same, but for film magazine covers. Both film magazines I will be looking at are aimed at different audience and will both be for different front covers from a different film magazine. In terms of design and layout, I will be able to see if both film magazines share the same conventions.  Below are the two film magazine covers I will be analysing:

Evaluation - what have I learnt from my audience feedback?

Within my research and planning, I constantly had my target audience in mind. I therefore conducted several questionnaires and focus groups,  in order to gather information on what my audience expected in regards to different media texts, along with making decisions based on their feedback.  My main aim for my marketing campaign was for it to hold authenticity and realism for the audience. I questionnaires which I have included below helped me achieve this: Questionnaire for poster Questionnaire for magazine cover Questionnaire for teaser trailer Additionally, I have also conducted a series of questionnaires post production of my marketing campaign. I wanted to gather feed back from my audience to see if they felt that my poster, magazine cover and teaser trailer were sustainable, accurate and convincing.  My posters questionnaire goes as follows:  1) Was the font I used effective in portraying the nature of a horror film? If so how? 2) Did you fee...
